Wi-fi installation & network infrastructure

Wi-Fi Installation & Network Infrastructure

Boost your network efficiency with our tailored service that identifies weak spots and reduces downtime.

Wi-Fi Installation

Wi-Fi Installation - Wi-Fi Interference

Wi-Fi Interference

We work to eliminate areas of interference around your site, identifying and targeting points that may be interrupting your connection. Generated from a number of potential sources from everyday equipment such as industrial machines or rival networks, Wi-Fi interference can disrupt strong connections even when close to an Access Point. As well as this, even your own network, if set up incorrectly, can generate co-channel interference.

Wi-Fi Installation - Availability

Wi-Fi Availability

One of the necessities for any business is high-quality Wi-Fi availability. With our network monitoring tools we can pinpoint areas with less coverage and act to resolve any issues ranging from planning to designing and managing alterations or renewals. From increasing the transmission power on existing Access Points to sourcing and installing new ones, we can work to provide you with a solution to grow and make the most of your network.

Wi-Fi Installation - Download Speeds

Wi-Fi upload/download speeds

Once an assessment of the Wi-Fi availability across your property has been completed, we are able to provide information and statistics concerning predicted upload and download speeds for users on your network. We will then map how best to improve performance in order to increase efficiency.

Wi-Fi Installation - Network Survey

Wireless Network Survey

A Wi-Fi survey of your property can provide a detailed breakdown of specific issues. These include, availability, connection strength, upload and download speeds plus potential areas of interference that could affect your network. We are then able to add new features, services, or procedures which can reduce delays and increase performance.

NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE

Network Infrastructure - Cabling

Cabling

When technology and business strategy is continually evolving, you need hardware that supports these changes. The dedicated structured cabling installed by our engineers can be used equally for data and voice. It is able to accommodate new hardware and support the amount of data used.

Network Infrastructure - Managed Switches

Managed Switches

A managed switch allows you to manage, configure, and monitor the settings of your LAN. This includes controls over LAN traffic, prioritizing certain channels, and create new virtual LANs in order to keep smaller groups of devices segregated and to better manage their traffic.

Network Infrastructure - Firewall

Firewall

Protect your business-critical information against unauthorised access, and help ensure network security and availability with Corona IT‘s managed firewall options. A firewall provides a critical element in a network solution, as unprotected servers, desktops and other devices are vulnerable to online attacks, resulting in downtime or a compromise of data.

Network Infrastructure - PCI Compliance

PCI Compliance

The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council develops standards that outline the proper protection of data in today’s security climate. Moreover, these specifications form the basis of PCI compliant hosting requirements. Therefore, compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is necessary for merchants and other entities that process payment cards, transmit that data, or store it.

Support tailored to your business

We offer tailored help and advice 24 hours a day throughout the year. You can feel secure knowing that whatever, or whenever, one of our experienced engineers will be able to help you.

Alternatively, for those who want more tangible support, we also offer remote monitoring as well as our Managed IT services.

Whatever level of support you and your business need, rest assured that our team is available to advise you.

Wi-Fi Installation & Network Infrastructure FAQ's

  • What is a wireless site survey and why do we need one?

A wireless site survey is a structured walk of your building with specialist equipment that measures actual signal strength, interference, channel usage and capacity in every area where Wi-Fi matters. It identifies dead zones, where access points should be located, what density is needed for the number of concurrent users, and where wired backhaul will be required. Skipping the survey is the single most common reason office Wi-Fi installations underperform — engineers end up guessing, and corrections after the fact are far more expensive than getting it right first time.

  • Why does our Wi-Fi work in one part of the building but not in another?

Three reasons usually account for nearly all coverage problems. The first is physical obstruction — thick walls, mezzanines, metal-clad rooms and lift shafts all weaken the signal in ways that move you out of range of the nearest access point. The second is interference from neighbouring Wi-Fi networks, microwaves, cordless phones or industrial equipment competing for the same frequency. The third is capacity — too many devices sharing one access point. A proper survey identifies which of the three is happening in each problem area, and the remedy is targeted rather than generic.

  • Can we just buy a better router and sort this ourselves?

For a small home office of two or three people, a high-end consumer router can be enough. For a commercial environment with more than a handful of users, mixed device types, guest access, video calls and security requirements, a single router cannot deliver consistent service across the whole building. Business-grade equipment uses multiple access points working together, a managed controller, separate networks for staff, guests and IoT devices, and proper authentication. The cost difference is real but so is the difference in reliability.

  • Do we need structured cabling or is Wi-Fi enough on its own?

Wi-Fi covers most user needs but it always rides on top of a wired backbone. Every access point connects back to a switch by cable. Printers, video conferencing systems, point-of-sale terminals and on-premises servers all perform better, more reliably and more securely on a wired connection. Structured cabling installed once, properly labelled and patched, will outlast three generations of Wi-Fi equipment. We recommend a wired-first design where it is practical and Wi-Fi for everything mobile.

  • How much should we expect to invest in a proper office Wi-Fi setup?

A small office of up to fifteen users with two or three access points and a wired backbone is typically a low-four-figure investment. A larger office with multiple floors, dense usage and guest segmentation can reach a low-to-mid five-figure project. We provide a fixed quote after the site survey rather than a per-hour rate, so you know the cost before work starts. Ongoing support and access point firmware updates are typically a small monthly fee on a managed contract.

  • Will the installation disrupt our business?

Most installations are scheduled to minimise disruption — cabling work and access point mounting can happen out of hours, in the evening or over a weekend. The cutover from old equipment to new is typically a single short window, often under an hour. Where the work cannot all happen out of hours, we communicate the plan ahead of time so your team knows what is happening and when. We do not turn up unannounced or leave cabling running across a working floor.
