With a huge portion of the workforce working from home over the past 12 – 18 months a recent survey by Garter revealed 82% of Company Leaders plan to allow employees to work remotely some of the time post pandemic. With an alarming number of workers admitting to not password protecting their main working device or linking work accounts to unlocked mobile phones the potential for information going missing is real. Added to this is the risk posed by using non-password protected home or public Wi-Fi.

o Ensure it covers potential VPN issues - Have a strong and secure company VPN
o Use a more rigorous method e.g. MFA devices
o Upgrade to a Two Layer Tunnelling Protocol - Ensure employees are logging on to your VPN via secure networks with firewalls
- Ensure employees are following your password protocols and policies on cyber security
o Make sure your policies are clear, understandable to non-technical members of the workforce and regularly updated
o Monitor your workforce to ensure they are sticking to the policies and not leaving your business vulnerable - Train your employees how to spot a fraudulent email, what to do with them and what to do if they are not sure if the email is legitimate or not
