The cameras don’t need internet to operate and will store recorded footage on a 1TB hard drive that comes with the system. However, internet connection is required for live feeds or remote video monitoring via smart phone, tablet or computer. The hard drive provided is designed to work efficiently as well, providing simultaneous recording and playback from multiple camera streams. Overwriting itself automatically, the hard drive will provide a loop recording for 10 days for all cameras in 1080p FHD.
In addition, the SANSCO system aims to maximise efficient hard-drive usage, using motion detection to record only when movement is picked up by one of the four cameras. However, it doesn’t have the comprehensive ‘false alarm’ prevention of its pricier competitors, which is something to take into account. However, it does have a motion detection ‘mask’ that you can program to block out areas that would otherwise trigger the cameras unnecessarily with constant movement.
